Application
iCommerceteam Marketplace Insights
A reporting application that consolidates Amazon Brand Analytics, sales, advertising and inventory data into scheduled reporting for the selling partner who authorises it.
What the application does
iCommerceteam Marketplace Insights collects data from a selling partner's Amazon account through the Selling Partner API and produces consolidated reporting for that selling partner. It exists because the data a brand needs to answer a commercial question is normally spread across several separate Amazon reports and interfaces, each with its own format and refresh cycle.
The application connects once the selling partner authorises it, then collects search query performance, market basket and item comparison data, repeat purchase behaviour, sales and traffic, advertising performance, and inventory position on a scheduled basis. It reconciles these into a single dataset per selling partner and produces reporting from it.
Data collected through the application is used to produce reporting for the selling partner who authorised the connection, and for no other purpose. It is not aggregated into benchmarks or datasets made available to other clients, and it is not sold or shared with third parties. Retention and deletion terms are set out on our data protection page.
Features
Functionality
Authorised Selling Partner API connection
The selling partner authorises access directly through Amazon. Authorisation can be withdrawn by the selling partner at any time, which stops collection immediately.
Search query performance reporting
Brand Analytics search query data covering impression, click and purchase share, presented against category position so brand results are read in context.
Competitive position reporting
Item comparison and alternate purchase data showing which products shoppers consider alongside the selling partner's own.
Repeat purchase reporting
Repeat purchase behaviour by product and cohort, distinguishing products that acquire customers from those that retain them.
Consolidated performance view
Sales, traffic, conversion, advertising and inventory data reconciled into one dataset, so figures are compared on a consistent basis.
Scheduled report delivery
Reports produced on an agreed cycle and delivered to named recipients, with written commentary explaining movement.
Data export
The selling partner can export their own data at any time, and can request deletion of everything held.
Data access
Selling Partner API roles
The application requests the roles below. Each is used only for the stated purpose, and access is granted by the selling partner, who can withdraw it at any time through Amazon.
| Role | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Brand Analytics | To retrieve search query performance, market basket, item comparison and repeat purchase data for the authorising selling partner's own brand. This data is the basis of the search performance, competitive position and repeat purchase reporting described above. |
| Selling Partner Insights | To retrieve sales and traffic data used in the consolidated performance view alongside Brand Analytics data. |
| Inventory and Order Tracking | To retrieve inventory position so reporting reflects stock availability during the period being analysed. |
Data handling
How data is protected
- Purpose limitation
- Data is processed only to produce reporting for the selling partner who authorised the connection. It is not used for any other purpose.
- No aggregation across clients
- One selling partner's data is not combined with another's, and is not used to produce benchmarks, market reports or datasets made available to anyone else.
- Encryption
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Credentials and tokens are stored separately from reporting data, with access restricted to the systems that require them.
- Access control
- Access is limited to personnel working on that client's reporting. Access is logged and reviewed, and is removed when someone leaves the engagement.
- Retention and deletion
- Data is retained for the duration of the engagement and for the period stated in our data protection page, after which it is deleted. A selling partner can request deletion at any time.
- Withdrawal of authorisation
- The selling partner can withdraw authorisation through Amazon at any time. Collection stops immediately, and retained data is deleted on request.
Full detail is on our data protection page and in our privacy policy.
